On 7 January, President-elect Nana Akufo-Addo will officially commence his second term in office following the inauguration of the new parliament the same day. The ruling New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) wafer-thin majority will be put to a first test when parliament elects its speaker and deputy speakers as the first orders of business.
