To help our members better navigate the looming political risks and uncertainty, Speevr will be hosting a series of virtual roundtable session with top political pollsters from across the industry. In the coming weeks, members will have the opportunity to partake in several small group discussions and quiz our guests experts on the issues most relevant to their investment mandates.

Roundtable with Fox News pollsters
Chris Anderson
Chris has two decades of experience in public opinion research and strategy. He provides polling and focus group research to ballot campaigns, political candidates, nonprofits and corporations. Chris has been the Democratic partner conducting the Fox News Poll since 2008 —a highly scrutinized poll which has earned a national reputation for accuracy. He also serves on the Fox News election night decision team. In Massachusetts, Chris’ clients include preeminent leaders across sectors, including Attorney General Maura Healey, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, and the ACLU of MA.
Chris was the general consultant and lead researcher on the successful ballot campaign to legalize marijuana in 2016. Chris founded Beacon Research’s predecessor firm, Anderson Robbins Research, in 2010. He learned the trade from two pioneers and legends of Democratic political polling —John Gorman at Opinion Dynamics and Tom Kiley at Kiley & Company. Chris graduated from Colby College with a B.A. in English and earned an M.A. from Columbia University in Statistical Analysis, Public Opinion and Political Science.
Matthew Shelter
Matthew Shelter has more than 25 years’ experience in public opinion research and political strategy as a partner at the firm Kiley & Company. He has worked for candidates and campaigns at all levels, including president, governor, U.S. Congress, state legislature, mayor, and other state, county and city offices. He was part of the polling team for John Kerry’s 2004 presidential campaign. Other candidates he has worked for include U.S. Senators Elizabeth Warren, Claire McCaskill and Ted Kennedy; Governor Deval Patrick; Rep. Niki Tsongas; New York State Comptroller Carl McCall; Manhattan District Attorney Robert Morgenthau; Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald; Pittsburgh Mayor Tom Murphy and Syracuse Mayor Stephanie Miner.
Matthew has also advised the Democratic Assembly Campaign Committee in New York State for more than 20 years, conducting hundreds of polls and focus groups throughout the most competitive districts in the state. In addition, Matthew has conducted opinion research for a wide range of labor unions, progressive policy organizations, ballot initiatives and corporations throughout the country over the past two decades. He has a background in journalism, working for several newspapers early in his career, including New York Newsday. Matthew attended the University of Virginia and New York University, graduating from NYU with a degree in Politics and Journalism.
