Dr Miguel Kiguel is one of Argentina's most influential economist of his generation, based in Buenos Aires. He is a founder and director at Econviews, an independent economic and financial advisory group. His clients include major corporations, Emerging Market funds, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, and the BIS.

Miguel Kiguel was president of Banco Hipotecario S.A (2001–03), Undersecretary of Finance and Chief Advisor to the Minister of the Economy of Argentina (1996–99), Deputy General Manager for Economics and Finance at the Central Bank of Argentina(1994–96), Principal Economist at the World Bank (1987–94), and was an Associate at the Institute for International Economics in Washington, D.C. (1983–85).
During his time in academia, Dr Kiguel held posts as Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland, 1983–87, and was an adjunct Professor at Georgetown University. He also taught at CEMA University.
Dr Kiguel has conducted research activities in inflation and stabilization policies, exchange rate and monetary policy, and financial markets. His books and academic papers on macroeconomics, inflation, monetary policy, and financial markets have been published in the US, Europe and in several Latin American countries.
Currently, Dr Kiguel teaches at Universidad Di Tella, and is an Academic Advisor at FIEL.
Nicholas Watson leads Teneo’s political risk coverage for Spanish-speaking Latin America. He has over 15 years’ experience creating and leading analytic teams dedicated to providing exceptional, actionable political intelligence, bespoke consulting and advisory work for a wide range of corporate, financial and governmental clients.
Prior to joining Teneo, Nicholas was the Analysis Practice Leader for Latin America at the business risk consultancy Control Risks.
Previously, Nicholas worked as a field researcher examining violent crime and police reform for a leading NGO in Brazil. Nicholas received a master’s degree in Latin American politics from the Institute of Latin American Studies (ILAS) in London, and also holds a first-class honours degree in Spanish from King’s College London (KCL).
Nicholas was based in Bogotá from 2012-2015, and has also lived, worked and studied in Mexico, Brazil, and Cuba.
