Speevr began as a side project of former financier Alessio Farhadi in 2015. Farhadi was looking to build a single platform to aggregate and process the thousands of documents he was receiving on a daily basis from multiple sources. He hired a data scientist to help create research recommendation algorithms that could identify the research reports most relevant to him using a combination of his past choices, and those of his peers.
Not long after building the first prototype of Speevr, the platform was made available to Farhadi’s former colleagues in portfolio management and trading. With many of the worlds top independent macro and political consultants streaming their research through Speevr, a natural marketplace ensued.
Within a year of initial launch, Farhadi’s long time friend, Augusto Ribeiro joined him to help build the marketplace. Speevr would enable producers of financial research to connect with end users and find new potential customers under a new flexible user pricing model.
